The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives.  St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events began as a challenge between businessmen and have grown from one event in 2000 to over 1,300 events in 2013, raising critical funds for childhood cancer research.

Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases, and shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

The BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk is the American Brain Tumor Association’s national signature fundraising event, taking place in cities coast to coast.  Your participation allows the ABTA to provide vital brain tumor resources to patients and their families, fund promising research studies, and conduct nationwide brain tumor education programs.

The Bow Tie Event was created by Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center to honor men who have been touched by cancer.  This year’s event, presented by Rockford Health System, includes a 1.5 mile symbolic March, optional 5K run, Wellness Fair, Survivors’ & VIP Tent, Childrens’ Activities area, entertainment by Bib Bang Baby, In Honor Of Signs, delicious food, and great prizes!John Ambrose Bowtie 2015 5k edit

Move for the Kids 5K Walk/Run began in 2005 and is Lurie Children’s annual signature 5K.  In the past ten years, there have been more than 20,000 participants and the event has raised more than $2.5 million.  The funds from the event support the hospital’s areas of greatest need to ensure the patients receive the best care possible to help them live a bright, healthy future.

Holiday Toy Drive for Lurie Children’s Hospital

The 7 Mile family brought in toys to be distributed to children that were in the care of Lurie Children’s hospital over the holidays.  Many smiles.

Lifetime Turkey Day 5k

Turkey Day Run has been stuffing the streets for more than 20 years, as well as filling the pantries of local food shelves. Participants are asked to bring as many non-perishable food items as they can carry to our pre-race collection sites.

Light The Night Walk

The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual fundraising walk and the nation’s way to pay tribute to those battling blood cancer. Participants walk along a two – to – three mile route carrying illuminated lanterns: red for supporters, white for survivors and gold lanterns for those walking in memory of loved ones lost. Join us this fall as we walk to support groundbreaking research, patient services and advocacy efforts.

GLASA 5K

The Twilight Run / Walk / Roll & Post-Race is the largest CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) certified 5K race in the Chicago-land area serving competitive and recreational runners and athletes with disabilities. The purpose of this event is to provide exposure to the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association and an opportunity for athletes who have physical disabilities or visual impairments to embrace the GLASA motto of “Let No One Sit on the Sidelines”.
