FABRICATOR / WELDER

Position Objective:

To provide the highest level of efficiency and quality in the manufacture of fabricated parts and assemblies.

Essential Function:

  • Welds and fabricates sheet metal parts and assemblies as defined per prints and/or job orders.

 Qualifications: 

  • Requires a minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a welder.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
  • Ability to move and lift components weighing 50 lbs. minimum.
  • Detail oriented and close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills, safe work habits, and a positive attitude.
  • Other machine tool experience is a plus, i.e. sheet metal fabrication, manual lathe and/or mill capabilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receive instructions, job orders, and prints to fabricate and weld parts.
  • Produce high-quality welds amongst a variety of materials and thicknesses, including stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum.
  • Provide specialized weld finishes to meet customer specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of completed weldments, including dimensional accuracy as well as being square and meeting fit and function requirements.
  • Create fixtures necessary for welding and assembly of components.
  • Maintain welding equipment in proper operating condition, performing maintenance as scheduled or required.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner, ensuring all safety requirements are maintained.
  • Perform basic sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Perform basic metal machining processes, i.e. cutting, drilling, deburring, etc.
  • Any and all additional needs as directed by Management.

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR

Position Objective:

Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Run or edit G-code based programs to machine parts on CNC equipment.
  • Set-up CNC lathes, 4 axis horizontal milling and vertical milling machines.
  • Maintain safe, organized and neat work areas.

Qualifications:

  • Requires an associates’ degree or apprenticeship in appropriate CNC Machining and/or minimum of 3 years’ experience in combination or relevant education and experience.
  • Experience with Okuma, Milltronics and Hass CNC machines.
  • Experience using manual mills, lathes and grinders is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Properly and safely load and unload raw material in CNC machinery.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or programs as required.
  • Inspect work produced, including 1st piece inspection, using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, or other measuring instruments including CMMs to verify conformance to specifications. Maintain tolerances as close as 0.0005”.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement including productivity, quality, safety, environmental and ergonomics.
  • Understand, interpret and edit G-code programing.
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ability to understand and manage schedules, forecasts, and communicate any exceptions.
  • Work with engineering to help facilitate new product introduction.

PANEL BUILDER / ASSEMBLER

We’re looking for a talented Electrical Panel Builder that can assemble electrical components to each other, to sub panel, to enclosure, and to equipment per blue print or instruction. Wire and interconnect these components per blue print and electrical code. To ring out, test, and debug these components to verify their proper operation. Layout and fabricate panel per blueprint.

Required Skills and Knowledge 

  • Responsible for wiring and building industrial control panels based on schematic, blueprint, and/or wire schedule.
  • Performing point to point wiring, having knowledge of standard wiring procedures which includes proper wire routing, stripping, crimping of lugs, torque terminal blocks per specification and proper wire termination.
  • Installing the wiring and harnesses within the control panel, running the wiring and cable terminations, wiring transformer.
  • Experience with panel fabrication and build, component lay out, electrical enclosures, electrical assemblies, controls, wiring, is required to do this position.
  • Wire and label electrical sub panels and enclosures per blue print.
  • Mount and interconnect components to equipment per blue print.
  • To be qualified for this position, candidates should have at least 2+ years of hands on electrical panel builder experience.
  • Final test check and troubleshooting.
  • Experienced with basic power and hand tools.
  • Mechanical assembly as needed.
  • Must be a people person with a good attitude.
  • Supervision and leadership skills are a big plus.
  • Have organization skills and ability to start and stop multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and stand most of the day.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Successful candidate must be highly motivated.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills (verbal/written).
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Keeps equipment and working area clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and participates in training as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Follows all company policies, procedures and work rules.
  • Follows all company safety rules, including machine operation and guarding.

Not required but pluses: 

  • Experience with PLCs.
  • Electrical machine and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic machine shop equipment, i.e. drill press, milling machine.
  • Associates Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related technical degree.

 

TITLE: Electrical Controls Engineer 
LOCATION: 
Niles, IL
DURATION: Permanent (direct hire)
SALARY: DOE
TRAVEL: Domestic travel is no more than 25%

DUTIES: Duties include electrical design, quoting, programming and site installation of automation equipment. Some of the time the job requires 9 or 10 hour days. This is a salaried position and there is no compensation for longer days. This position requires some travel, up to 20% of the time. Must be able to execute multiple project responsibilities.
BS in Electrical Engineering, however, an Associate’s degree may be substituted with a minimum of 5 years related experience
Experience with PLC, Drives, Motors is a plus

Ability to work effectively on cross-functional projects

Provide electrical design and support on cross-functional projects

Provide electrical technical support on problems that arise in product development

Knowledge and experience with NFPA 70E, NFPA 79 and NEC, UL508A

AutoCAD experience a plus
